Havering Cup: Redden Court 65 Brittons 10
Redden Court’s year nine boys’ rugby team overcame Brittons in the their first Havering Cup game of the season this week.
Well marshalled by captain Adam Dickson, the Harold Wood pupils eased to an emphatic victory after a well contested early encounter.
“The boys have trained well so far, but barring a friendly victory against Royal Liberty early last month lacked game experience and it showed,” said teacher Anthony Henry.
The first try eased the nerves and very quickly the ball started moving well through the field with the Redden Court wingers proving too much for the opposition.
Brian Claydon ran in a hat-trick of tries in the rout, with Dan Parker and Chester Diwell adding braces.
Joel Cornell, Bailey Carabine, Oscar Brigden and James Sandon also touched down, while Dan Francis was named man of the match after a fine performance in a new position.
Redden Court return to action with a home match against Chafford on Wednesday (October 16).
