Basketball squad net National Cup win

Redden Court’s year nine boys basketball squad enjoyed an impressive winning debut in the regional round of the National Cup.

Coming up against an experienced St Martin’s School side, they ran out 51-43 winners in what teacher Anthony Henry said was “a testament to the hard work and commitment they have shown.”

The match proved a real tactical battle, but Redden Court managed to keep their well-drilled opponents at arms length to hold onto their lead in the closing stages.

Henry added: “It was a realy team performance with lots of court time for all players.

“It sets them up well for their London Youth Games fixture againdst St Bonaventure’s (on Monday January 20) and their Havering Cup title defence later in the month.”

Squad: Jed Roofe, Dan Ogoro, Dan Parker, Dan Francis, Enock Sagonile, Charlie Haddon, James Sandon, Jack Duggins, Connor Hartwell, Stephen Banham-Scott.
