Women’s team hoping to expand

Romford Ravens are looking to build on their successful 10th anniversary season.

The women won the National League title for a second year in a row and added the Essex Sevens crown to their collection.

They also saw nine players gain county honours with Essex, with three getting divisional honours.

Now the club are looking to expand their senior squad and field a second team, alongside junior girls teams at under-13, under-15 and under-18 level.

Manager Fran Mills said: “We are extremely proud of all our achievements during the 2013/14 season and are now looking to the future.

“We will be playing in the National Leagues next season and are looking to continue recruiting experienced and novice players to our teams.

“We will also be running youth teams next season so we have a natural feeder to our successful women’s squad.”

Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports for women looking to get fit, socialise and develop teamwork skills.

Any girls aged 12 and above who would like to find out more about women’s rugby or interested in joining can call Fran Mills on 07946 873130 or email franjmills@aol.com.
