Romford take a week off London Two North East action this weekend, with plenty of their rivals competing in the London section, first round of the RFU Intermediate Cup.

The Crow Lane club are next in action on October 21 when they visit Wanstead and head into their mini-break on a high after winning last time out.

Romford recorded a 21-19 success at home to Ipswich in the league, with the triumph coming in thrilling fashion.

Despite tries from debutant Jack Irvine and flanker Ian Sermain, Romford headed into the closing moments of the match trailing 19-18.

However, a drop goal from veteran fly half Darrell Braiden secured the win for the hosts.

Victory lifted the Crow Lane club above local rivals Old Cooperians in the standings.

And with a full week to prepare for the clash with Wanstead, Romford will hope it aids them in their quest to pick up another win when they return to the pitch.
