Romford & Gidea Park under-16s beat Rochford Warriors 22-12 for a third successive league win.

Rochford broke through to score the first try after a tense opening, adding the conversion for a 7-0 lead.

But Romford were quick to respond from a lineout in the Rochford 22 as Shaun Kerr rumbled over from the back of a driving maul.

The restart found its way to Torez Polius, who caught the Rochford defence napping to put his side 10-7 up, but the home side hit back with their second try before half time.

The second half was a one-sided affair as good work from the Romford forwards drew in the home defence and saw the ball worked wide for Rae McGuiness to race over for a try, converted by Jack Bennett.

The visitors then turned the ball over for Polius to score in the corner to complete the scoring.

Romford: Runham, Adewole, Bennett, Brindle, Courtney, Flower, Fregjaj, Kerr, Lloyd, McGuinness, O’Meara, Mimms, Potter, Polius, Shawyer, Walton.
