Friday night tips
Easter must be just around the corner with Romford staging their heats of the BAGS/SIS Easter Eggstravaganza this week.
The top-class action kicks on apace at London Road with two finals tomorrow night, the Steve Simmons March Hare Trophy and the Tony Williams Marathon.
Well played to the two local bookmakers, but who’s going to win?
Let’s kick off with the £1,000 marathon where Avit On Bertha (9.06pm) is a spot of value in a race where favourite Black Lamora may need luck in running with her slow-starting, big-finishing style. If the gaps don’t open she might struggle, while the two is coming back to form and might surprise with a fast start.
Nans Turbo (9.24pm) and Borna Monty were the most impressive heat winners in the 400m final, but while the latter was quicker on the clock the former has the inside line and might get first run.
Other bets on the card include well-drawn youngster Brookside Ace (9.46pm), unlucky-last-week Droopys View (8.02pm), speedy Caesars Rocket (8.50pm), fast-starting Guinness Sky (9.40pm) and possibly well-drawn Springdale Hawk (10.26pm) at a price over 575m.
