Friday night tips
Skate On has been in scintillating form since her return and should continue her fine run in the final of the Coral On TV Bitches Trophy over 400m at 9.24pm Romford tomorrow night.
The final is a number of a top-notch races at London Road, and this one should head the way of the favourite.
However, she needs to come away and clear fellow heat winner Slick Seamist before going on. But while the latter will head to the fence from four, trap five-boxed Skate On should keep a straightish line.
Guinness Smokie (7.31pm) needs to trap when this regular winner goes against in-form Billymatt in the opening sprint and certainly represents value if managing to head off five into the turn.
Que Ouro (7.46) could be an interesting purchase for Michael Fawsitt having been snapped up by the trainer on the back of some solid Yarmouth form.
Droopys View (8.02pm) will relish the extra metres in the 575m maiden, while Sids Ninja’s (8.18pm) switch to the outside catches the eye in a weaker race than he’s been in of late.
A trappy hurdles race could be a match between relative novice Roses Rockin, well-drawn Lenson Teddy and Rebellious Cause (8.34pm).
But it’s the latter’s solid Romford form that might win the day, despite the fact he returns from a lay-off here.
Rio Minstrel (8.50pm) has been Glanmire Lad-esque in some of his wins and should have too much pace for his puppy rivals, while surely Sidaz Dippy has a winning opportunity in the 9.06pm over 575m after some staying-on efforts over shorter distances.
Four-bend race of the night, the final apart, is probably the 10.11pm where Sharons Return’s draw looks good to go, in a race where Millstreet Lar could hold up Nans Turbo unless the latter pings.
Romeo Patriot showed great pace at Crayford but didn’t trap well there and Planning (10.26pm) might get first run in a real ding-donger over 575m.
Ayamzabeauty (10.40pm) catches the eye over trouble-prone Sakara Sky in a teasing ‘lucky last’.
When Terry Spinks won an Olympic gold medal in 1956 he was a hero to everyone in east London, but he hit hard times in later life. He was an ex-bankrupt with a drink problem and given just a few days to live.
