Friday night tips
Romford rolls out the red carpet for some of the fastest greyhounds around this Friday with a terrific card spiced by the Coral On TV Trophy final over 400m, in which old favourite Lil Risky (9.24pm) might just have too much all-round class for his rivals.
Mark Wallis’s punter-friendly speedster could take advantage of coming away better than the likes of Pams Tomjo and Nans Turbo and putting himself bang there, as they all jostle for positions against the rails, which will be held by bang railer Wajas Trump. Sweeping round, Risky might puts this to bed.
A number of high-quality races litter the card, kicking off with the opening sprint where Billymatt’s continued fine run might well continue in the 7.31pm, while Shuffleanddeal (7.46) can bounce back after being a very unlucky loser last week after almost being put on the floor at the turn. He is so strong.
Droopys Ultana (8.50pm) can pace up into the lead in the 575m maiden from the ‘pinging’ trap three box, while Oaks runner-up Skate On (9.06pm) has a touch of class and searing pace to the bend and could get first-run on Romford specialist Sequential, but only her best will do in a cracking bitches’ race.
Springdale Hawk (9.40pm) was noted running on well in third in a rough race last week and can bounce back over 575m if repeating a recent snappy split to make all, while Ding Hero (10.26) might be the value to get first run on Planning, who makes his comeback and could be ring-rusty from the boxes.
