New faces added to Marshall’s line-up

London Raiders revealed their full line-up for the 2014/15 National League season at a Meet the Players event in Collier Row.

And they will include a second import in defenceman Vaclev Drabek, who will ice alongside fellow Czech countryman Jakub Klima at the Lee Valley Ice Arena.

Drabek has played over 700 games in his homeland and is described as an experienced blueliner “with a cool head, smooth skating and great awareness of play” who will also chip in with points on offence.

Other new faces added to the roster include young defenceman James Buckingham, who joins from Slough; former Romford junior TJ Fillery and ex-Streatham youngster Perry Richardson, while the club also hope to call upon the services of netminder George Alley, who is based with landlords Lee Valley.

The club also announced that four Cardiff-based players have agreed to play for the team this season, with Phil Manny and Mike Brabon returning to gold and blue after previous spells.

They will be joined by Ross Wilkinson and Stephen Deacon and a club spokesman said: “I’m sure Raiders fans will give these guys, new and returning, a big welcome when we hit the ice next Saturday.”

Raiders begin their new campaign with a home match against Cardiff Fire on Saturday September 6, face-off is at 5.30pm.
