Raiders were caught cold on their return to the ice by an in-form Invicta side who took over at the top of the table with victory at Lee Valley.

Only 96 seconds had been played when former Raiders import Juraj Huska opened the scoring with the first of his four goals on the night.

And Andy Smith and former Raiders captain Anthony Leone netted 46 seconds apart to put the visitors 3-0 up with barely five minutes on the clock.

Shellshocked Raiders dug in to deny Dynamos any more goals in an opening period where they were outshot 21-7.

But Leone potted his second early in the middle stanza and Huska added a shorthanded fifth before Josh Condren got the home side on the scoreboard with a powerplay goal at 24:41.

Smith was ejected with a match penalty for spearing Bailey Wootton, but Callum Fowler made it 6-1 while Invicta were a man short midway through the period.

Vaclav Drabek replied with a second for Raiders only for Huska to add a third shorthanded effort for Dynamos, with Fowler serving a holding minor and 10-minute misconduct penalty, to make it 7-2 after 40 minutes.

New signing Michal Oravec claimed Invicta’s eighth on his debut, having signed from Streatham, before Michael Gray made way for George Alley in the Raiders net.

Lewis Jones recorded his first goal for Raiders in controversial fashion, as the visitors claimed the puck had not crossed the line, and Elliot Dewey’s comments to referee Blaine Evans earned him a 10-minute misconduct penalty.

But Steve Osman made it 9-3 on an Invicta powerplay after Ross Wilkinson was called for charging and Huska took the visitors into double figures with his fourth before Jacob Ranson opened his account on home ice, after netting twice on the road.

Dynamos had the last word as Ashley Jackson completed the scoring in the last minute, leaving Raiders to lick their wounds ahead of a trip to Streatham tonight.
