The Jacksonville Jaguars, the NFL team committed to playing one home game per season at Wembley Stadium for the next three years, will take over Westfield Stratford City on Saturday May 10, to give UK fans a taste of the excitement for the NFL Draft.

Whether you’re an avid Jaguars fan or just keen to feel the glitz and glamour of the NFL, the Jaguars LIVE @ Westfield event is a chance to get up close and personal with NFL players and the team’s cheerleaders, THE ROAR of the Jaguars, while the NFL Draft is happening in New York City.

The Jaguars are the first NFL team to take over Westfield and are set to make a big impression with interactive games, great giveaways and the chance to win bigger prizes including a holiday to Jacksonville, Florida.

The event is free to attend, with Jaguars’ player appearances and cheerleading performances scheduled along with interactive activities throughout the day.

Jaguars LIVE @ Westfield will be celebrating the 2014 NFL Draft, a huge weekend in the NFL calendar where teams go head-to-head to improve their rosters by picking the most talented college players in the USA.

The Jaguars are set to choose third overall out of all 32 teams, and plan to screen a special message to UK fans from their Number One draft pick, who will be selected in New York City only a day before the Westfield event.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are committed to creating unparalleled experiences for fans in London, their second home, since they agreed to play four annual home games at Wembley Stadium from 2013-2016.

Jaguars LIVE @ Westfield is in response to the growing demand for NFL here in the UK, which will see this year’s Jaguars game - a mouth-watering clash with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday November 9 – already an 84,000 sell-out.

This is the second Jaguars visit to the UK this year, with players and cheerleaders having visited London to headline NFLUK’s Super Bowl party in February.

The team also ran coaching and cheerleading master classes in local schools and at the home of Premiership rugby team, Saracens.

This year, THE ROAR of the Jaguars will be hosting a cheerleading master class on Saturday May 10 for girls aged 8 to 16 in Chestnut Plaza at Westfield Stratford City from 9.30am-11am.

No previous cheerleading experience is required and it is free to participate but places are limited and applications close at midnight on the May 1. To register for a place visit: www.nfluk.com/junior-roar-academy

Visiting player, Johnathan Cyprien, insists he can’t wait to come back to London following his previous visit last October.

“I loved London, the fans were great and I really enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the city,” said the 6ft, 217lb tough-tackling strong safety.

“I had never been to the UK before last season’s game and the support we received from the people of London and the UK was incredible. We had a fantastic time meeting with the UK fans so we’re definitely looking forward to doing that again.

“The NFL Draft is a really exciting time as we have a good position in it and we really believe we can build a good team for 2014. To have the third pick is a good place to be.

“I was involved last year so it is cool to be on the other side of it now. Hopefully lots of people will come down to Westfield Stratford City and join in with the excitement.

“Everyone’s welcome, whether they’re fans of the Jags or other teams, and hopefully we’ll get people there who haven’t really experienced much around American football previously. We love the chance to show people what it’s all about!”

Further announcements on the players attending will be made in the coming days and a more detailed schedule of the activity will also be released ahead of May 10.
