King was hurt while making a save early in the final period, with Raiders 4-0 down, and left the ice with 13 and a half minutes still to be played.

Captain Tom Davis took over between the pipes for the rest of the match, but was beaten three times on six shots faced to give the final scoreline a more lopsided look.

Raiders travelled in high spirits after their 11-1 win at Invicta, but were made to pay the penalty as they conceded three power play goals in the first period.

Bison took the lead at 10.47 when Tomas Karpov teed up Ashley Jackson as Jack Cooper served a slashing minor.

And it was 2-0 with Andrew Munroe sidelined by a tripping penalty when Ivan Antonov cut inside and fired through King’s skates.

A roughing call against JJ Pitchley then gave Bison the chance to net their third goal, as Karpov got in on the act from Antonov’s pass.

The hosts dominated the shot count 19-3 in the first session, but had to wait until midway through the second stanza to add to their tally as captain Aaron Connolly fired into the roof of the net from Jaroslav Cesky’s pass.

Raiders lost Alan Lack to a 2+10 penalty for checking to the head, followinng a hit on Grant Rounding, and then saw him given a game misconduct against his former club.

But the visitors killed off the minor penalty and others against JJ McGrath and Pitchley either side of the interval.

The game was delayed while Davis changed into goalie kit following King’s injury, with regular back-up Zach Grandy-Smith not available.

And Bison went 5-0 up when Olegs Lascenko saw an attempted clearance rebound into the net off Davis, with Connolly given credit for the goal.

It was 6-0 just 53 seconds later as Antonov fired home his seconnd of thenight, but Raiders grabbed a consolation when Marek Nahlik saw his shot find a way through Dean Skinns on a delayed penalty.

Bison had the final say when Jackson collected a pass from Paul Petts and shot past Davis, four minutes from time, and Raiders will now wait to see what damage King has suffered as they prepare to host Swindon at Lee Valley on Sunday (5.30pm).
