London Raiders defenceman Jack Cooper wants a repeat of the last time his side faced Invicta Dynamos this weekend..

The Lee Valley-based club will host rivals Invicta Dynamos tomorrow (Saturday, 5.30pm face-off) in the cup as they bid to progress into the quarter-finals before travelling away to Berkshire to face Bracknell Bees in the league on Sunday (6pm) at the John Nike Leisuresport Centre.

They go into the match on the back of a 6-5 loss to Bracknell at home last weekend and will also be hoping to get one back on the ex-EPL side.

“It would be nice to repeat that score, especially at home,” the 21-year-old said.

“I do think they will be tough this weekend and will be looking for a revenge win.”

The Kent-based outfit have recently signed forward and former Great Britain field hockey captain Ashley Jackson, who originally left the club in the summer to join Basingstoke Bison, and Cooper believes he’ll be a boost for their opponents but nothing to worry about.

“Ashley Jackson is a good player and does get goals but I think we will be fine,” he said.

“If we play defence first then our goals will naturally come with the forwards we have in our team.”

The former Albany School student scored his first goal for the club after 117 appearances when they beat Invicta 11-1 away from home earlier this season and he admits he’d like to get another.

“It would be nice to get another one but as long as we get the win, that’s all I care about.”

Defenceman Cooper is expecting another tricky test as they come up against Bracknell just eight days after their last match on Sunday evening.

“I expect another very tough game,” he said.

“I believe we should of won Saturday, if we take out a few mistakes we made I think we can beat them on Sunday.”

The youngster praised the Berkshire-based outfit and pin-pointed Frantisek Bakrlik as their danger man.

“They are a quick physical team.

“I’d say they have been the most physical Ex-EPL team we’ve played so far.

“Their standout player is definitely their import Bakrlik, he’s very strong on the puck and has a rocket of a shot.”
