Defenceman leaves the club

Experienced defenceman Stewart Tait is the third player to officially leave the London Raiders for pastures new this off-season.

The 36-year-old, who joined the gold and blue early last season from Bracknell Hornets, has been announced as signing for the Oxford City Stars ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Tait has joined the Stars, having spent his career at various EPL and NIHL clubs, including Slough Jets, Wightlink Raiders, Streatham IHC and Bracknell Hornets.

The utility player, who also spent some of his time at the Raiders as a forward, will re-join former coach Kenny Redmond who he was captain under at his time in Bracknell.

He made 27 appearances, notching three goals and eight assists, for a total of 11 points at the club last term.

Tait is the third name to be confirmed as signing for another club this off-season.

Signing announcements are expected on Friday morning - check back here for updates.
