They began the Wilson 10 in memory of the late Tom Wilson, who died aged 22 after a tragic training accident in December 2015.

And they will take on nine more challenges between now and next summer to raise money for the Tom Wilson Memorial Fund, which helps organ donation charities among others.

Pippa Wilson, Tom’s sister, was joined by Catherine and Alex Semon, Katie Griggs, Emily Gilkes-Tarsey, Alex Lee, Michael Hinton, Alex Defroand, Luke Joslin and Paul Johnson on a 5k run to launch the challenge.

And they will also take on Greenwich Park (October), Bushy Park (November), Richmond Park (December), Hyde Park (January), London Winter Run (February), Brentwood Half (March), Thames Valley (April) and the Liverpool Marathon (May), before a final race in June.

*Havering’s men begin the new East Premier B season with a trip to East London tomorrow (Saturday, 11am), while the women host Redbridge at Campion in East Two South East (11.30am).
