Hammers expect tough Swindon test

Elite League hopefuls meet at Purfleet

The Vortex Lakeside Hammers aim to keep their excellent start to the Elite League season on track as they return to action at the Arena Essex Raceway tomorrow night (Friday).

Visitors Swindon have the best record of any side in Essex in recent years and have already taken a point home from their March visit and present a tough challenge.

But having seen his side win their Good Friday home meeting against Eastbourne and claim a point from a 48-42 defeat in the evening return, Hammers co-promoter Jon Cook said: “We are pleased with things so far and it’s going to be very interesting to see how we go against Swindon this time around.

“Like our fans I am very excited about seeing our young guns Mikkel Bech, Adam Ellis and Ben Morley as you never quite know what to expect, apart from plenty of action.

“And with the rest of the Hammers they represent the most entertaining team I think we have had since 2008. Let’s hope they can go as far, if not further, than that side.”

Admission is Adults £17, Senior Citizens, Students and Disabled £14, Unemployed and 17/18-year-olds £12, children aged 6-16 just £1 and children under the age of six will be admitted free of charge provided they are accompanied by a paying adult. Proof of age or status may be requested.
