Elite League season gets underway

Elite League action returns to Arena Essex as the Vortex Lakeside Hammers host Swindon tonight (Friday).

Co-promoter Jon Cook is relishing the challenge, after seeing his squad edged out by Poole in a midweek challenge and said: “There’s a real buzz around the team and we can’t wait to get cracking.

“The mixture of youth and experience has given the year a real air of excitement and I think we can look forward to plenty of entertainment-packed Friday nights, plus a few Saturdays.”

The action gets underway with the parade of riders scheduled for 7.45pm and the first of 15 heats of racing at 8pm.

Admission prices are £17 adults £17, £14 senior Citizens, students and disabled, £12 unemployed and 17/18-year-olds and £1 for children aged six to 16. Those under six are admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.

Proof of age or status may be requested and all tickets may be purchased on the night, but are also available in advance online via the club’s website at www.lakesidehammers.co.
