Semi-final action in store this weekend

A record £200,000 awaits the winner of the 2014 William Hill Greyhound Derby and it’s make or break for connections at Wimbledon tomorrow (Saturday) as the event, which started out with 222 greyhounds chasing chasing immortality, reaches the semi-final stage - with just 12 runners left.

It’s a real Britain versus Ireland clash in the two semi-finals with England’s champion trainer Mark Wallis sending out unbeaten Aero Nemesis in the second heat against Irish handler Pat Buckley’s fastest quarter-final winner Mind The Net, who ran-up in the Scottish Derby earlier this year.

The pair dominate the long odds betting along with Ireland’s Crokers Champ, who runs for Peter Cronin, and who will be a red-hot fancy to win the first semi-final.

The two semis form part of a cracking card live on SIS and Sky Sports 2 (from 7pm) which includes the heats of the William Hill Derby Plate and William Hill Champion Hurdle, the qualifiers from which will share the stage at Wimbledon for next week’s gala Derby Final night programme.

Latest betting: 3-1 Aero Nemesis, Crokers Champ, Mind The Net, 7 Metro Jack, 10 Ecclestone, 20 bar.

See bagsracing.com for further details and big-race form, including video replays. Form for card attached.

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.
