Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen has confirmed that the Whites have had a bid for West Ham forward Ravel Morrison rejected and believes the player wants to make the move.

The former Manchester United man moved to east London two years ago and has started to shine in the Premier League this season.

Fulham will weigh up whether to make another bid for Morrsion, with West Ham believed to want £10million for the player and are unwilling to sell him to a relegation rival.

“Yes we did [put in a bid for Morrison] but we got knocked back,” Meulensteen said.

“We need to review it and move on. I’ll leave it with Alistair Mackintosh. I’ll have to wait and see what happens.”

When asked if the player wants to come Meulensteen replied saying: “Yes.”

When pushed on what that is the case the Whites boss replied: “Because I’ve known Ravel for a long long time.

“The thing is we have to wait and see how the clubs and everything goes. We’ll see what we get.”

Meulensteen believes that he will provide a new dimension for Fulham.

“Youthfulness, energy, unpredictability, attacking strength, loads of things,” he said.

“The fee is not for me to discuss. I’ll leave that to Alistair Mackintosh. I’ve made my desires clear and will leave them to it.

“We’ll review it because I don’t know the ins and outs how it has been rejected.”

The Whites boss is hoping that Morrison will be the only addition to the club’s ranks.

“It is very difficult in the January transfer window because of a lot of clubs are in the same situation,” he explained.

“You can’t do your business early because clubs in a similar situation won’t do business early because the higher the price will go.

“You’ll see things happening in the last week of the transfer window.

Meulensteen was also asked about any interest in Mo Diame but he moved quickly to deny that there was any interest.
