West Ham skipper Mark Noble says he hasn’t spoken to new England boss Sam Allardyce about his chances of winning a first international call.

Many thought that the 29-year-old had earned a place in Roy Hodgson’s squad for Euro 2016, but he was overlooked once again and still remains without a full cap.

But now with former Hammers manager Allardyce in the England hot-seat, his time may finally have come.

“I was as disappointed as anyone when I watched England play in France and of course I thought I could do a job in that midfield.

“Don’t get me wrong, we have got some really good young English players and I was really hopeful for us this year.

“Sam has come in now and he is going to change things for sure.”

So will one of those changes be a call-up for the Hammers’ longest serving player?

“I haven’t spoken to him,” revealed Noble. “We did speak at the end of last season by text when he congratulated me on my testimonial and I did him on keeping Sunderland up.

“I said you are going to have a great summer now and then I saw him dancing in Spain,” he laughed.

“Listen, I am just going to enjoy my football at West Ham and see what happens.”

There have been many false dawns for Noble in the past when it came to England call-ups. If he is not picked now, then it would seem he never will be.
