West Ham may not have qualified for Europe next season, but they will certainly be making some trips before the start of the new campaign.

Their latest confirmed friendly is a clash with Manchester City when the teams meet up in Reykjavic, Iceland on Friday, August 4.

It will be the first ever meeting between two Premier League teams in the country that embarrassed England in last summer’s European Championships in France.

It will be West Ham’s final friendly clash before their opening Premier League fixture at Manchester United the following weekend.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic said: “It is fantastic that we will make history by becoming the first Premier League clubs to face each other in Iceland and we are really looking forward to visiting Scandinavia, where there is a very big West Ham following.”

West Ham did not fair well against City last season, losing on three occasions to Pep Guardiola’s men, including two heavy home defeats.

Hopefully they will be a little more friendly this time.

Prior to the trip to Scandinavia, the Hammers will begin their pre-season plans with two training camps.

The first will be an 11-day stay in Austria, followed by a trip to German that will see back-to-back games against Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in a two-legged Betway Cup encounter.

West Ham are unable to play the Betway Cup at home this year because of the World Athletics Championships being held at their London Stadium home.
