West Ham make their first appearance on home soil at London Stadium on Monday, as Premier League new boys Huddersfield come to town.

Slaven Bilic’s men have lost their first fixtures of the season away at Manchester United, Southampton and Newcastle United but off-field matters have grabbed the headlines most recently.

Owners David Gold and David Sullivan have come under attack from Sporting Lisbon officials over their reported bid for William Carvalho during the final stages of August’s transfer window, when the Hammers were looking to further strengthen their squad.

But there could be some good news with regards to striker Andy Carroll, who is said to be ready to play some part in their next match.

National League leaders Dagenham & Redbridge make the long trip to the north East to take on Hartlepool this weekend, looking to extend their eight-match unbeaten start to the campaign after beating Gateshead 3-1 last weekend.

East London neighbours Leyton Orient are now right behind them on goal differencee, following their 4-1 defeat of Guiseley, and make the shorter journey to Boreham Wood, who appear to be far from welcoming hosts.

Archant London’s Dave Evans, George Sessions and Ned Keating discuss all with Matt Withers in our latest podcast of 2017/18.
