There’s only one game in town as West Ham welcome Tottenham to the London Stadium for a big derby under the Friday night lights.

The Hammers were minutes away from a memorable win at White Hart Lane in the earlier meeting between the two sides, before Spurs struck twice late on for a 3-2 victory.

And Mauricio Pochettino’s men have proven unbeatable on their own turf this season and not done too badly away from north London, winning their last nine Premier League matches in total to remain on the heels of title rivals Chelsea.

Another win would leave them one point off top spot, but Slaven Bilic’s Hammers are unbeaten in their last four matches, including three clean sheets.

They are only seven points above the relegation zone, though, with three matches to play and would love nothing more than to gain some revenge for their earlier loss, while also putting a severe dent in the title hopes of their fierce rivals.

West Ham won the corresponding fixture last season thanks to a single Michail Antonio goal at Upton Park, but their leading goalscorer is out for the rest of the season with injury, as is Diafra Sakho.

East London rivals Leyton Orient complete a miserable League Two relegation campaign with a long trip to play-off hopefuls Blackpool on Saturday, with speculation mounting about a change of ownership at the club.

A takeover could well be imminent at Brisbane Road, bringing an end to the infamous reign of Francesco Bechetti, as London’s second-oldest club prepare for life in non-league football next season.

Meanwhile, in nearby Forest Gate, Essex Senior League side London Bari have confirmed their merger with Hackney Wick, under whose name they will play in 2017-18 at the Old Spotted Dog ground.

Correspondents Dave Evans and George Sessions share their thoughts in our latest podcast presented by Archant’s digital specialist project manager Matt Withers.
