West Ham United boss David Moyes was delighted to see his side pick up another Premier League point from a goalless draw with Arsenal.

The Hammers had a first-half header from Marko Arnautovic ruled out for offside and saw returning Javier Hernandez hit the crossbar in the closing stages.

Arsenal dominated possession, with Alex Iwobi hitting a post, but West Ham’s dogged defence kept them at bay to record a second successive clean sheet, following Saturday’s 1-0 win over champions Chelsea.

And Moyes, having named an unchanged starting line-up from the weekend, was pleased to see their plans gaining results, saying: “It was a really good performance by the players, certainly a really organised, disciplined performance again, which we needed to do these three games.

“Sometimes you do that, you hang in, stick with it and give yourselves a few opportunities and we got one right at the end.

“For a moment I thought it was in. I think Cech pushes it onto the bar. It was a moment, but I would say for the majority of the game we have to praise the boys for how disciplined they were and the defenders for how well they stuck to their task against a good team who caused us a lot of problems.”

Spanish keeper Adrian, making his third appearance of the season since replacing Joe Hart in the game at Manchester City, gave another assured display between the posts, producing a diving save to keep out a free-kick from Alexis Sanchez.

But Moyes would not be drawn into any discussion about having a particular preference, adding: “I’ve got two goalkeepers who can be chosen at any time. At this moment in time Adrian has got the jersey and has played well.”

A trip to struggling Stoke now awaits on Saturday and West Ham should head to the Potteries with plenty of confidence after the week they have had.
