Hammers star Mark Noble is in the best form of his career, but it seems that England coach Roy Hodgson has not checked him out

West Ham midfielder Mark Noble may not have ruled himself out of making the England squad for the World Cup this summer, but it seems that he is not even on the radar of coach Roy Hodgson.

The 26-year-old put in another superb display in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Southampton and he is convinced that he is playing the best football of his career.

“I am playing as well as I ever had, 100 per cent,” said the Canning Town-born Hammers fan.

“My all-round game is winning the ball back and starting off the forward play. I am enjoying it and obviously it is much more enjoyable when you win.

“I have probably played as well this season as I ever have in 90 per cent of the games, but when you are losing it doesn’t shine out.

“When you start winning games, everyone starts talking about about how well you are playing, but it is an accumulation of the team playing well.

“It is easier to play well in a better team and to win four in a row you start to build confidence and you enjoy it more.”

West Ham fans have certainly enjoyed watching the club’s current longest serving player this season, but it seems that it still has gone unnoticed by the England coaching staff.

Noble has played at every level for England apart from the senior side and played alongside the likes of Southampton’s man of the moment Adam Lallana for the under-21s.

It looks like Noble is not likely to get the same elevation as the Saints man though.

“If I am honest I have to say Roy Hodgson hasn’t spoken to me personally,” admitted the midfield man.

“Playing for my country is my ultimate goal as it should be for any English player. It has come up so many times before. I have played well and everyone says when the England squad is coming out that I have definitely got a chance.

“The boys around the club say ‘you are definitely going to be in’ but it hasn’t meant to be, but I will go out there every week, give 100 per cent and try my hardest.

“I will just keep enjoying playing football, enjoying working for the team and hopefully one day I will get my chance.”
