The two previous meetings between the London rivals this season have resulted in 3-2 away wins, but less goals are expected this evening

Tottenham Hotspur will be boosted by the return to full fitness of Harry Kane and Mousa Dembele for tonight’s London derby with West Ham United.

The latter missed the 2-0 win at Swansea City on Tuesday night with a hip problem, but the club confirmed he was “available for selection” this morning.

Meanwhile Kane is understood to have showed no ill-effects after coming on in the 67th minute at the Liberty Stadium.

The England international was on the bench at Swansea after struggling with a cold in the lead-up to the match, but made his presence felt after his introduction with an assist for Dele Alli.

While Kane will almost certainly start this evening, Dembele may have to be content with a place among the replacements.

Victor Wanyama returned from his knee injury to come off the bench at Swansea and he will most likely be a substitute again for the visit of the Hammers.

Two players Spurs will be without though are Danny Rose (knee) and Toby Alderweireld (hamstring), so Ben Davies will retain his spot at left-back and Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez will continue at the heart of Tottenham’s defence.

The two meetings between West Ham and the Lilywhites this season have resulted in two 3-2 away victories.

Spurs triumphed at the London Stadium in September thanks to a Harry Kane brace and a Christian Eriksen strike before Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate responded for the Hammers during a dramatic finish to the Premier League game.

But West Ham, under the management of Slaven Bilic, got some type of revenge in October when they came from two goals down to win 3-2 at Wembley.

Goals from Moussa Sissoko and Alli put Tottenham in control at the break, but Andre Ayew struck twice in five second-half minutes before Angelo Ogbonna headed home the winner in the 70th minute.

Both clubs played and won on Tuesday with Spurs defeating Swansea and West Ham claiming a crucial three points at home to West Bromwich Albion following a 2-1 win thanks to an Andy Carroll brace.

With that in mind, a low-scoring affair between the London rivals is predicted at Wembley tonight following a busy festive period.
