Romford captain Jack Barry hailed his side after a fine win in Cambridgeshire last night.

Kick-off was delayed until 7.55pm after Romford were caught up in traffic en route.

And the scoreline remained blank until just past the hour when Danny Jones put Boro ahead.

Nick Reynolds doubled their lead on 76 minutes with his fourth goal in three matches and the visitors held on for a fine victory.

And skipper Barry felt it was no more than Paul Martin’s men deserved, saying: “It was a fantastic result for us and we totally deserved the win.

“We were a bit shaky in the first half, but we dealt with anything they threw at us.

“We had the better chances in the first half and then in the second half we totally dominated all across the pitch and warranted the win.

“It made it even better going all that way on the coach on a Monday night and taking all three points.

“Everyone from the back to the front deserved credit because it was such a good performance after all the games we have had in the last week.

“Hopefully now we can take that momentum on to Wednesday. Up the Boro!”

Victory lifted Boro up to 12th place and they could climb into the top 10 with another victory tomorrow, as they play their sixth game in 12 days against table-topping VCD Athletic at Ship Lane.
