Tom Richardson’s second-half strike saw Boro bounce back from back-to-back defeats with three points against Ware at Ship Lane last night.

Paul Martin opted to hand a first start to youth team player Jordan Thomas his first start for the club, in one of five changes from the team which lost out against the play-off chasing Swifts.

In front of a crowd of 81, Nick Reynolds gave his side the lead on 20 minutes, but that would only last five minutes as Khale Da Costa levelled for the Hertfordshire outfit.

Bookings were one apiece as well by the end of the half as Boro’s Abs Seymour picked up his 11th booking of the campaign, while Ilyas Cil was cautioned for the Blues.

It remained 1-1 at half time, but Martin opted to bring on Richardson for Ryan Imbert on 59 minutes, and that proved to be a wise move 10 minutes later when the striker netted the winner.

After last night’s result, Boro sit 11th in the Ryman One North table, and travel to Dereham Town on Saturday.
