Winger, who counts Barking among former clubs, joins on one-year deal

Dagenham & Redbridge have signed winger Lamar Reynolds on a permanent deal from League Two side Newport County.

The 22-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Leyton Orient, has signed a one-year deal with Daggers.

After turning out for the likes of Barking, Heybridge Swifts, Grays Athletic, Aveley, Thurrock and Brentwood Town, Reynolds moved to Newport after impressing at Jamie Vardy’s V9 Academy.

After just one season with the Exiles, though, Reynolds has returned to the borough to join Daggers, much to the delight of boss Peter Taylor.

“I think that Lamar is an exceptionally exciting forward who is very quick and can play wide or down the middle,” Taylor told the club website.

Reynolds added: “It is a great opportunity for me and this club is so local to me it’s like a dream come true.

“The manager obviously knows the game very well and I think with my inexperience in the higher-class game I believe that he will help me to adapt and show my skills.”
