Midfielder has penned one-year deal with Vanarama National League side

Dagenham & Redbridge have signed Harry Phipps on a one-year deal after the midfielder impressed while on trial with the Vanarama National League side.

The 19-year-old was released by divisional rivals Maidstone United in May, and also counts Margate and Welling United among his former clubs.

Daggers have signed Phipps in time for the midfielder to be available for the opening-day league trip to Boreham Wood on Saturday.

And Daggers boss Peter Taylor is confident the teenager will be a success during is time at Victoria Road.

“Even though Harry is only 19-years-old, he has played lots of football and we believe he has got a lot more to offer,” Taylor told the club website.

“He’s another young player who we feel will earn great experience from playing a lot of football at this club.

“Harry is also a holding midfield player that I felt we needed at the club.”

During his time with Daggers, Phipps will don the number 16 shirt last worn by Nick Wheeler.
