The Daggers will welcome Hartlepool United to Victoria Road on Saturday before making the trip for a bottom-of-the-table clash against Barnet at the Hive on Monday afternoon.

And manager Peter Taylor admitted his side will be working hard in training to stamp out their mistakes to try get a result on the board.

“Hopefully next Saturday we can regroup and not drop our heads too much to get a result,” he said.

“We’re desperate to win and we do appreciate the support we’re getting as there is a lot of people that travelled up to Halifax and that really is appreciated by the players and myself.”

They will come up against The Pools who have had a mixed start to the season and they will also take on former manager John Still and plenty of familiar faces to the club in recent years at Barnet.

The Bees have got off to a poor start to the season but majority of their squad will be keen to get one over their former club.

Although, Taylor admits they will be using some of the club’s squad players in the friendly at Hornchurch that was due to be played last night (Tuesday), to give them an opportunity ahead of the weekend.

“We’re going to have a friendly for some of the players that haven’t played but we’ll be doing the work that we need to do to try and get better for the next game,” he said.

The former England caretaker manager was pleased with his side in their 2-1 defeat to Halifax Town but feels they must stamp out errors to get a win.

“I was very pleased with the performance and I’m very disappointed we’ve only got one point so far,” he added.

“We’ve deserved more than that and the way the players played against a very good team that has had a good start we felt there was a lot more pluses than minuses.

“There are still minuses and we didn’t win the game so that’s what we’ve got to keep working at,” said Taylor.

Taylor should have more options to pick from for his starting line-up this weekend with Luke Pennell almost back to 100 per cent and a few others expected to get pitch time during the week.
