Pre-season friendly: Hemel Hempstead Town 2 Dagenham & Redbridge 3

Dagenham & Redbridge ended their pre-season campaign with a 3-2 win at Vanarama National League South outfit Hemel Hempstead Town.

The Essex club took the lead in just the fourth minute when on-loan Colchester United defender Will Wright netted following a goalmouth scramble after a free-kick.

Daggers doubled their lead 21 minutes later when Michael Cheek capitalised on an error in the Tudors defence, before firing home.

Cheek then added his second of the match with two minutes left in the half as Peter Taylor’s men led by three at the break.

Hemel netted twice in the second half, however, to give Daggers a fright, though both sides made plenty of changes throughout the final 45 minutes.

Daggers will now spend the week preparing for their opening Vanarama National League fixture away to Boreham Wood next Saturday.

And Taylor will hope Cheek can continue his good scoring form next weekend after his brace against the Tudors.
