Vanarama National League: Guiseley 3 (Purver 27, Hudson 33, Lenighan 38) Dagenham & Redbridge 5 (Cheek 16, 36, 67, Gordon 26, Okenabirhie 44)

Michael Cheek bagged a hat-trick as Dagenham & Redbridge eased to a 5-3 win at Guiseley in the National League.

Cheek opened the scoring in the 16th minute, before teenager Liam Gordon, on his full debut, doubled Daggers’ lead 10 minutes later.

Less than 60 seconds after Gordon’s goal, Alex Purver pulled one back for the hosts, before Ellis Hudson drew them level in the 33rd minute, scoring on the rebound after James Roberts’ penalty was saved.

Daggers regained the lead through Cheek three minutes later, but the Lions were level again when Simon Lenighan found the target in the 38th minute.

The Essex club, however, were ahead by half time after Fejiri Okenabirhie converted a spot kick to put the visitors 4-3 up.

Cheek then completed his hat-trick with the game’s final goal in the 67th minute to secure his first treble for Daggers, who host Maidenhead United on Saturday.
