Daggers to discover opening-day opponents

The fixtures for the National League season will be released at 1pm on Wednesday

Dagenham & Redbridge will discover who they will face on the opening day of the new National League season when the fixtures are released on Wednesday morning.

Like all of their divisional rivals, Daggers will be waiting with baited breath for the announcement at 1pm to see who they will face on August 4.

Since returning to non-league football two years ago, both of the Essex club’s starts to the season have come at home.

Daggers began the 2016/17 campaign with a 3-0 win at home to Southport, while they started last term by beating Barrow 2-1 at Victoria Road.

New boss Peter Taylor will take charge of Daggers competitively for the first time on the first day of the new season and will hope to start at home.

Fans will no doubt be on the lookout for the derby fixtures against the likes of Leyton Orient and Barnet, now managed by John Still.
