Dagenham & Redbridge manager Peter Taylor was delighted to fight back and earn a 2-2 draw against Maidenhead United for their first point of the National League season.

Daggers twice came from behind to nick a point thanks to second-half goals from new signing Alexandra McQueen and Elliot Romain to cancel out the goals from the Magpies Ayo Obileye and Nana Owusu at Victoria Road.

Although, the visitors did suffer a huge blow in the 64h minute as they went to 10 men after captain Alan Massey was sent off, after picking up his second yellow card.

“I’m pleased with the way we came back because the first-half was a very poor performance,” Taylor said.

“I said to that we should have had four points on the board that’s the Boreham Wood game and the game here against Maidstone, but today we didn’t deserve anything, Maidenhead were the better team.”
