Daggers suffered a disappointing defeat on Merseyside as their away woes continue
Dagenham & Redbridge’s threat in the second half of a 2-0 defeat at Tranmere Rovers in the National League was dealt well with by the Meryseysiders, according to home boss Micky Mellon.
Goals from James Norwood and Oliver Norburn for the hosts saw Daggers trail 2-0 at the break at Prenton Park.
Looking for a way back into the match, Daggers threw plenty at Tranmere, but Mellon feels his side coped well.
“The game asks you a certain question and you just have to be able to answer it,” the Scot told the Tranmere website.
“We’re winning 2-0 and they’ve gone a wee bit more direct and pushed a few more players forward.
“You just have to be able to win the first headers and pick up the knock downs. You have to be good around your own 18 yard box.
“When you win the ball back, you have to be good on the counter-attack and we did that.”
