Daggers manager to keep faith with starting line-up that shone against Southport

Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still is unlikely to make any changes to his Dagenham & Redbridge squad for their trip to Chester tonight, having impressed in their National League opener against Southport.

Still handed full debuts to six players — with Scott Doe making his ‘second’ for Daggers — while Chris Assombalonga came off the bench for his first appearance midway through the second half on Saturday.

Not a single player let the side down as they eased past Port and sailed to the top of the standings after the first round of matches.

After such a good opening, it seems unlikely Still will tinker much with the squad, so new signings Corey Whitely and Paul Benson may have to settle for a place on the bench at the Deva Stadium.

Luke Howell (knee) and Luke Pennell (ACL) both remain long-term injury concerns, and we wish the defender all the best with his recovery after surgery on Monday.

Daggers XI: Justham; Williams, Doe, Robson, Widdowson; Boucaud, Robinson; Maguire-Drew, Guttridge, Okenabirhie; Hawkins
