Match with Boro set to be Daggers’ last at Victoria Road before new term starts

Dagenham & Redbridge play their final home friendly of pre-season on Saturday before they begin the National League season at Victoria Road on August 5 against Barrow.

League Two side Stevenage are the visitors this weekend as Daggers boss John Still finalises his team ahead of the new campaign.

Team selection against Boro could offer an insight as to who may start the league campaign for the Essex club.

New signing Morgan Ferrier has caught the eye so far and is likely to keep hold of his starting spot, though who will partner him remains up for debate.

Mason Bloomfield is clearly someone Still rates, while Michael Cheek has shown glimpses of his ability, but Oliver Hawkins is yet to look like the player he was at the start of last term.

There is also a dilemma in goal too, with the race to start between Elliot Justham and Mark Cousins too close to call.

Injuries, and a lack of depth, may force Still’s hand in defence, with Sam Ling, Bondz N’Gala and Craig Robson all likely to start this weekend, and against Barrow too.

Matt Robinson and Andre Boucaud look set to restore their partnership in midfield, while Corey Whitely and Fejiri Okenabirhie are the favourites to start on the flanks.

Win, lose or draw Saturday, Dagger just need a good display in their final friendly at home before the league season starts.
