Daggers boss adds young striker to squad
Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still appears close to adding another striker to his squad after reports emerged on Wednesday morning that Bowers & Pitsea frontman Shomari Barnwell has agreed a move to Victoria Road.
The Essex Echo reported that Barnwell, who has hit four goals in the Ryman North this season, has put pen to paper on a deal that will see 21-year-old make the step up to the National League.
Barnwell’s displays for Bowers this season had also alerted clubs in the Football League, with the young striker having had a trial with Cambridge United earlier this month.
But it would seem Daggers have won the race for his signature, with Barnwell expected to compliment an attack that already contains the likes of Oliver Hawkins, Corey Whitely and Chris Assombalonga.
Barnwell is not the only player who is understood to be joining Daggers, with Ryman South outfit Folkestone Invicta confirming they had accepted a bid from the Essex club for midfielder Scott Heard on Monday.
