Essex club visit champions Silkmen on final day of season this Saturday

Fejiri Okenabirhie wants Dagenham & Redbridge to maintain their strong end to the National League with a win at champions Macclesfield Town.

The Essex club have lost just one of their last eight in the league, taking 17 points from a possible 24.

Daggers will bid to continue that strong form at Moss Rose on Saturday, and Okenabirhie knows that a win against the Silkmen would be the great way to end a testing term.

“The results over the last few months have lifted the mood around the club with everything that’s been going on,” said the 22-year-old.

“It would be nice to finish that on Saturday with a win going into the summer. We want to go out on a good note.”

Daggers head to Macclesfield after ending their home campaign with a 1-0 win over Maidenhead United last Saturday.

Okenabirhie provided the assist for Michael Cheek to head home the winner against the Magpies.

And the former Arsenal man was pleased the Essex club signed off from Victoria Road for the season with a win.

“It was a good win on Saturday. It was a tough game, but I’m glad we were able to get the three points,” added the former Stevenage man.

“With results on Tuesday, it means we can’t get into the play-offs, but we still want to put in a good performance in our last game and go out on a high.”
