Warriors saw off challenge from rivals to defend county title

Harold Wood Warriors finished off their season in superb style by brilliantly retaining their Essex Community Foundation Super9 title.

Teams from Springfield, Saffron Walden and Basildon took part in the season, which commenced back in February.

Sides began by competing in indoor competitions, before moving to outdoor matches in May.

The clubs played at each of their respective grounds and the deciding matches where played at Springfield Cricket Club.

In the finals, Warriors battled to victory against Saffron Walden and Springfield to lift the title for the second year running.

“It was testament to the players and their commitment to the year round training and effort,” said coach Bradley Donovan.

“A special mention should be made to all the coaches for all the support given to all the players throughout the year.”
