Dagenham BC prospect to travel to Russia in October

Upminster boxer Billy Adams has been selected in the England squad for the upcoming EUBC Junior European Championships.

Adams, who represents Dagenham BC, sufficiently impressed the national selectors on his latest outing in Birmingham to book his place in Russia in October.

The selection for the event is another massive step in Adams’ career and a huge development.

However, it is one that the hard-working and dedicated young man thoroughly deserves and will undoubtedly relish the challenge ahead of him.

Adams has had a wonderful season and has quickly become a popular and recognised figure within the sport throughout the country at this level.

However, the Upminster youngster has never let the success go to his head and has always remained the same modest and respectful person, with an overwhelming desire and determination to succeed.

Adams was recently also elected as the club captain of Dagenham, demonstrating the respect the youngster has among his peers.

After contesting three National Championship finals last season, Adams scooped two national titles and continues to impress at each and every England squad session.

Despite his obvious talent, Adams has continued to work extremely hard, developing all aspects of his game with the coaching staff at Dagenham ABC.

This has been done predominantly with Adams’ coach and father, Dennis, who was a double national boxing champion himself.

Adams will now spend the next two months at the club preparing for the biggest challenge of his career.

With the continuation of his development and his fantastic attitude, Adams is sure he will do himself, his ever supportive family , his club and country proud.

Adams has also been helping the coaches at Dagenham BC to identify future prospects through the club’s highly-popular summer programme.

This season has seen around 60 children, all aged between five and 10, training in the hope of earning a place with Dagenham BC, who are oversubscribed.

Adams will be helping the club again next week, when children aged between 11 and 16 train in an effort to win a spot with the club.
