Fullerton and Kersey enjoy latest training camp

Havering Mayesbrook’s Faye Fullerton and Romford resident Gemma Kersey got some intensive training at the latest On Camp With Kelly gathering at Tonbridge School last weekend.
The duo were among a 22-strong group which took part in circuit training, aqua-jogging, Pilates and an outdoor run on the hills of Knole Park.
And there was also workshops on UK anti-doping and goal-setting with sports psychologist Dr Anna Waters.
Fullerton, 27, said: “My main goal this year is to get to the Olympic trials in June in the best shape I’ve ever been in my life.”
Basildon AC member Kersey, 19, added: “I want to win a medal at the England Under-23 Championships in the 1,500m and make the final of the Olympic trials.
“I do find it hard to juggle my athletics, college and work, but On Camp with Kelly is great for support.”
Holmes said: “2012 is a big year for all athletes, for those aiming to compete at the London Games as well as younger athletes for whom it will act as a massive inspiration as they move forward with their sporting careers.
“I was pleased to meet up with athletes in Tonbridge to set the scene for the year. It was a valuable opportunity for the athletes to train together, set goals for 2012 and inspire each other to achieve their aims.”
Kevin Mitchell has high hopes that his dream fight, a clash with WBO lightweight title-holder Ricky Burns, will take place at West Ham United’s Upton Park ground on the night of July 14.
