Harold Wood Running Club saw seven of their members complete the Southend half marathon on the Essex coast on Sunday.

Chris King led them home in a fine time of 1:28.41, with James Coker not far behind as he clocked 1:29.04.

Ian Grant (1:37.09), Peter Jackson (1:43.28) and Craig Brown (1:48.12) were next to finish, as Scott Brown (2:08.22) and Louise Hawker (2:11.11) completed the squad.

Meanwhile, Martin Hawker was in action at the Thames Chase 10k, where he set a new personal best of 50.22.

Saturday saw eight club members tackle parkrun events at different locations, with Mark Dalby first to cross the line in 20.33 at Padua in Italy.

Closer to home Charlie Fisher (23.29) and Lauren McInernery (27.59) both set new bests at Raphael Park.

In other club news, Harold Wood’s Julie Bradd completed her first official 10k while running the Run to the Deep event in London’s Hyde Park on Friday.
