Harold Wood Running Club took control of the Raphael parkrun this weekend.

More than 25 volunteers turned out to help turn the run green for one week only, as part of the club’s idea to promote their five mile charity race at Harold Wood Park on Sunday.

Not only did the club members volunteer, they also had 17 runners take part in the free weekly 5k run, which now includes walkers.

Paul Depree managed a new personal best of 22.27 in the run.

The club now turn their focus on the charity run, which will see local actor known for being in Star Wars Nick Joseph taking part, alongside 40 fellow runners.

Runners must register at the park by 10am before the 11am start.

The race will cost £20 with all profits going to Harold Wood Running Club’s two local charities.
