Jo Sullivan was the next home in 12th, nine places higher than last year, while Tina Quinlivan produced a solid performance to finish 33rd.

Completing the team were Mo Lear (49th) and Tracy O’Neill (51st).

Paul Berrett battled his way to a very good sixth place in the veteran 50 plus race. Kevin White was the next team member home in 96th with Colin Wiggins and Derek Earney completing the team in 98th and 103rd.

Late withdrawals took their toll on the 40 plus squad with only three out of the possible six toeing the line. Matt Bland had another fine run coming home in ninth place, Martin Chester ran confidently to finish 22nd and Darren Priestley, in his first championships for many years, proved there is a lot more to come with a solid 54th.

Lauren Deadman is set to compete in the European Cross Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia on Sunday.

Deadman joins Olympic 10,000m and 5,000m finalist Julia Bleasdale, Steph Twell and Katie Brough, among others, in the British team.

Lydia Hallam continued the club’s good record in the Harrow Lodge parkrun event when a new personal best of 19 minutes 41 seconds brought her victory.

Sarah Wilson equalled her best in third overall.

Matthew Braybrook ran to a sixth consecutive victory in the Barking parkrun event, with Luke Jackson finishing as runner-up in a new personal best.
