Archant

Harold Wood Running Club saw two of their female members set personal bests at the latest Raphael parkrun on Saturday.

Kaye Jackson clocked 25 minutes 18 seconds, while Parisa Skeldon was not far behind in 29.02.

Three members were also in action at the Victoria Park 10k, where Tony Rawson crossed the finish line in 47.49 to lead Richard Rockcliffe (57.29) and Martina Murphy (1:19.00) home.

A group of 24 Harold Wood Running Club members then travelled to Rainham Marshes on Sunday to help the RSPB with their latest steps series challenge.

The RSPB are aiming for people to walk or run the same distance as a black tailed godwit covers when it migrates back to Iceland – a whopping 1,369 miles or 3,011,800 steps!

Harold Wood had a mixture of walkers and runners in action on the day and they combined to cover 322,549 steps to help pass the two million mark overall.
