Harold Wood Running Club has doubled in size over the course of the past six months.

The small, local outfit was formed in July 2015 and currently has 10 leaders, with two attending coaching courses, and they are actively encouraging members to obtain qualifications.

A spokesperson said: “We are unique to other running clubs whereby we offer a run every night of the week.

“The leaders lead on a rota basis and we meet at 6.30pm every night at the Neighbourhood Centre in Gubbins Lane and at 8am on Sunday morning.”

A typical week would see a four-mile run on a Monday, five miles on a Tuesday – usually involving hills – and another four-mile run on Wednesday.

Thursday is reserved for speed work, with a jog held on Friday ahead of the Raphael parkrun event on Saturday.

Sunday can see runners tackling anything between five and 14 miles.
