Everyone Active Raiders head coach Sean Easton says they want to prove their run to the National League play-off final last season was 'not a fluke'.

Raiders finished runners-up to Leeds last spring and secured their place for this post-season with wins over Bees and Peterborough Phantoms last weekend.

And they complete the regular season with a trip to Swindon on Saturday and home date with MK Lightning at the Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre on Sunday (5.15pm).

They will meet both teams again in play-off group B, along with Peterborough or Telford, as they look for a top-two finish for a place at Coventry at the end of April.

"Our aim is to show making Coventry last year was not a fluke by making it two years running," said Easton.

"The players and room is in great spirits right now and full of confidence going into the play-offs where formbooks and results start again."

Raiders fell behind to a shorthanded goal against fellow play-off hopefuls Bees last Saturday, but were soon back on terms through Adam Laishram.

And the Canadian forward struck for a second time after the visitors had regained the lead to ensure the first period ended all square.

Laishram went on to take his haul to four with the only goals of the middle session, before Tjay Anderson struck twice in the final period to make it 6-2.

Jake Sylvester and Aaron Connolly added late markers to complete a comfortable victory and ensure Raiders would finish above Bees in the final table.

And Easton's men followed that with a fine 6-3 win in Peterborough the following night.

Zack Milton's opener was cancelled out in the first period, but Sylvester struck just 14 seconds into the middle stanza as Raiders enjoyed a powerplay.

Jesper Eriksson made it 3-1 as the visitors converted on another man advantage around the midway mark, only for Phantoms to answer with their second.

George Norcliffe restored the two-goal cushion with a third powerplay goal, with Callum Wells firing home early in the final period to make it 5-2.

And although the hosts struck on a powerplay of their own, their decision to remove goalie Jordan Marr for an extra skater backfired as Coy Prevost found the empty net to complete the Raiders tally and a four-point weekend.

"When asked the team found a way to progress to bonus hockey in April," added Easton.

"Our home form has been amazing in the last month or so, with not just wins but convincing scorelines.

"I was concerned about our away form but Peterborough away showed we can play on the road. When we can get our noses in front we play with a lot of confidence and we are relentless with it."

Raiders have taken just three points from a possible 10 against Swindon so far this season, while losing four of five meetings with MK Lightning.

But Easton is not particularly concerned about improving those details this weekend.

"This coming weekend is a chance to rest some of our more injured players and over-played players to ensure they are fresh for the play-offs," he said.

"These games have no outcome to the league. Even though it’s our opponents in the play-offs, it’s important our guys are rested for the play-off battle.

"It’s a chance to play no pressure hockey and work on a few things ready for when it’s needed."
