A salon has launched a new “pay as you go” colouring technique in the same week it dazzled the stars at a fashion fair.
Uppercut, in Market Place, Romford are pioneering a hair-dying technique it has named “flash” that they launched last week.
Colour experts have been working for six months to create an “affordable” and “quick” way to spruce up your barnet with streaks of vibrant colours.
Uppercut owner Trevor Vale said: “The artistic team have been looking at new things and experimenting and this is what we came up with.
“It’s quicker because it’s just partial colouring of the hair and it’s affordable because you choose just how much you want you want coloured which effects how much we charge.
“With the economy as it is, you’ve got to have something affordable and it’s a bit like pay as you go - you pay as much as you want to without commitment.”
Uppercut was also chosen as the official hairdressers for stars, including those from The Only Way Is Essex (Towie), at the West Essex Fashion fair held at the Prince Regent Hotel, in Chigwell, last week.
Its stylists created braids and hairstyles for the models who took to the catwalk at the red carpet event.
The former-Towie star Frankie Essex and Romford’s once X-Factor hope Lydia Lucy were among those to be dolled up by the stylists.
Trevor said: “We love being involved in things like that.
“It’s a top event if you want to see the latest fashion and we were the chosen hair designers for Frankie and Lydia and others from Towie.”
